Here are a few of the questions you might have, please feel free to call the office if there is anything you are unsure of or where you might want more information.
01 Can I have a home visit?
Absolutely, whilst we have meeting rooms available at our offices, you may find it more convenient and relaxing to be in your own home during the meeting.
02 Can my appointment be made outside of office hours?
We can arrange for your appointment to be in or within reason outside of office hours, yes we can normally accommodate evenings and weekend appointments which you may find easier if you or your spouse works.
03 How long does it take it all take?
We would look to draft your Will within 14 days after taking your instructions (normally sooner), once you have approved the draft we will arrange to sign the Will as soon as possible. Lasting powers of Attorney follows the same time-frame for drafting, however, the document needs to be signed by the client and all attorneys before it can be registered. The Office of the Public Guardian may take up to eight weeks to register it.
04 How much does it cost?
It depends what we do for you, please check the our prices page and our fees are clearly advertised, suffice to say that our costs will likely be significantly lower than a solicitor offering the same service.
05 Are you insured for the services you offer?
Absolutely, just like a solicitor we are covered for professional services indemnity cover. Our cover is up to £2.5 million per claim, we also hold public liability insurance. In addition to this, we are full members of the Society of Will Writers and accordingly we follow their code of practice. The Society provides the firm with full technical support, continued professional development, updates to legislation and case law which means you can be confident that we will deliver the best service available.
